【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesmeasurementoftotalsulfurinautomotivefuelswithaminimumofsamplepreparation.Atypicalanalysistimeis200to300spersample.Thequalityofautomotivefuelcanberelatedtotheamountofsulfurpresent.Knowledgeofsulfurconcentrationisnecessaryforprocessingpurposes.Therearealsoregulationspromulgatedinfederal,state,andlocalagenciesthatrestricttheamountofsulfurpresentinsomefuel.Ifthistestmethodisappliedtopetroleummaterialswithmatricessignificantlydifferentfromthecalibrationmaterialsspecifiedinthistestmethod,thecautionsandrecommendationsinSection6shouldbeobservedwheninterpretingtheresults.1.1Thistestmethodspecifiesanenergy-dispersiveX-rayfluorescence(EDXRF)methodforthedeterminationoftotalsulfurinautomotivefuelswithaconcentrationrangeof6mg/kgto50mg/kg.1.1.1Thepooledlimitofquantitationofthistestmethodasobtainedbystatisticalanalysisofinterlaboratorytestresultsis6mg/kgsulfur.1.2Afundamentalassumptioninthistestmethodisthatthestandardandsamplematrixiswellmatched.MatrixmismatchcanbecausedbyC/Hratiodifferencesbetweensamplesandstandardsorbythepresenceofotherheteroatoms.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thepreferredconcentrationunitsaremg/kgsulfur.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
