【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodwasdevelopedusingcopperelectrodestoevaluatethelow-voltage(upto600V)trackingresistanceofmaterialsinthepresenceofaqueouscontaminants.Note18212;Atthistime,onlyindustriallaminateshavebeenexaminedusingthismethodwhichwasdevelopedattheNationalManufacturersElectricalAssociation(NEMA)laboratorylocatedattheUniversityofCincinnati.Itwasfoundthatacloserendpoint(lessscatter)wasobtainedthanwithplatinumelectrodes,andmaterialstestedtendedtoberankedbyresinsystem.1.1.1Otherelectrodematerialsmaybeconsideredforusewiththistestmethoddependingupontheapplicationoftheinsulatingmaterial.1.2ThistestmethodissimilartoTestMethodD3638,whichdeterminesthecomparativetrackingindexofmaterialsusingplatinumelectrodestoproducethetrackingonthespecimensurface.1.3Thevaluesstatedinmetric(SI)unitsarethestandard.Theinch-poundequivalentsofthemetricunitsareapproximate.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
